Hi, Albert Chen here. Thanks for visiting my website. Let me introduce a bit about myself and my paths toward a professional photographer and philosophy of being a photographer.
I am a Houston-based, Taiwanese-American photographer. As many others, I wasn’t born to be a photographer. Years ago, this profession wasn’t an option for my career path at all. Back then, I was an amateur photographer shooting mainly for cityscape, architecture and nature. Photography was just a hobby for me at that time.
Year of 2016 was a turning point in my life. I started to submit my work to international photography contests to see how well my work compared to others. By far, I am fortunate enough to have my work been awarded in 17 different international photography contests such as International Photography Awards (IPA) in the U.S.A., Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) in U.K., Prix De La International Photography Awards (Px3) in France, Natural Density Photography Awards (NDPA), Monochrome Photography Awards (MPA) in U.K., International Photographer of the Year (IPOTY) in the U.S.A., Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA) in Japan, Fine Art Photography Awards (FAPA) in U.K., Spider Photography Awards (SPA) in the U.S.A., Chromatic Photo Awards (CPA) in U.K., International Color Awards (ICA) in the U.S.A., One Eyeland International Photo Awards (OEIPA) in India, 2018 World Top 10 Black and White Photographers Awards (WT10BWPA) in India, 2019 World Top 10 Landscape Photographers Awards (WT10LPA) in India, International Photography Award Oneshot-Street Photography (IPAOneshot), Monovisions Photography Awards in U.K., and Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA) in Hungary.
About the same time, I started to build myself as a professional photographer. Family, natural light portrait, and real estate photography were my initial focuses. Later on, I expanded my services to events and weddings. Since then, I found that I was so fascinated with shooting weddings and events. This is because I enjoyed to capture those moments, joys, emotions, and laughters. I loved to help tell stories through my lens, and have been fortune enough to have many opportunities to serve for many corporate events, conferences, expos, lovely weddings, and many others.
At the same time, my portrait photography service also extended to reach out more variety of clients. I started to shoot for fashion photography, in-studio portrait, and for dancers. Some of these works were published in several magazines.
Throughout years of professional development, I have strived for providing with quality over quantity of works. Clients who seek for my services often found my works and services often meet, and some even exceed, their expectations.
